November 10th - 15th, 2008

Monday, November 10th - Parent teacher interviews are scheduled for the day, no classes. Parents are provided with the opportunity for private interviews with each subject teacher. These interviews are not automatic. Request forms were sent home with students.
Tuesday, November 11th - Remembrance Day, no classes.
Wednesday, November 12th - Day 1 (BB-DD) The special in the cafeteria at noon is spaghetti or grilled chicken caesar.
Classes have been modified to allow for mid-semester assessments. The morning will be a double block B period and the afternoon will be a double block D period.
Thursday, November 13th - Day 2 (B-A-D-C) The special in the cafeteria at noon is turkey dinner or macaroni casserole.
Photo retakes will take place for those students not satisfied with their student pictures the first time around.
The Family Place family resource centre, will host lunch and learn sessions for the pregnant and parenting students in the school. They are invited to join Lori Clarke each Thursday as she’ll share lunch and information on topics such as; pre-natal care, labour, delivery, and parenting. The group meets each Thursday in the Three Oaks conference room at noon.
A school dance is scheduled for the cafeteria beginning at 8 p.m. and running to 11 p.m. The theme is "Red for Remembrance."
Friday, November 14th - Day 1 (A-B-C-D) The special in the cafeteria at noon is tacos and fries.
Noteworthy Items:
Our annual Career Day is scheduled for the gym during the afternoon on Monday, November
17th. Representatives will be available from numerous colleges, universities and other institutions, to answer any questions. The gym will re-open from 7 - 9 p.m. Parents are welcome to visit the displays at this time as well as the students.
Students and parents are urged to attend these displays. This is one of the few opportunities where students can meet and speak with career specialists of their choice.
A reminder to grads to drop by Student Services to check out our bursary board which is
updated weekly. Graduates who are considering studying skilled trades outside P.E.I. are strongly encouraged to apply a.s.a.p. New Brunswick and Nova Scotia Community Colleges are accepting applicants on a first come, best qualified basis. For more information, contact Mr. Donovan in Student Services.
Congratulations to Connor McGuire who travelled to Ottawa recently to the Terry Fox Centre as part of the Encounters with Canada Program. Encounters with Canada is an annual exchange involving students and teachers from across Canada. Conferences, workshops, and exterior visits are creatively designed for the interactive program. The theme for Connor’s visit was Medicine and Health.
Congratulations to our girl’s field hockey team who won gold in the provincial high school championships.
